⋙♥⋘ A Hawaiian Blessing Way ⋙♥⋘

This weekend, I hosted a Blessing way at Camp Nash. The family home of my dear friends Jackson and Melissa Nash.  We lived on the Zero One community with Jackson and Melissa and were there to witness the beginning of their beautiful union. They will welcome a new baby, Stellar, this fall!
There were no silly games played or fake poopie diapers to open. Instead we gathered as sisters, in sacred ceremony, offering blessings and prayers for her and the child snuggled within her womb. We massaged her, we bathed her and we loved her as a Woman, a Sister and soon a Mother.

One of natures most magical gifts, the blue jade vine.

This gorgeous Balinese style land transports you to the temples of Besakih

This is how we wrap gifts in Hawaii!

Mama Melissa and the blue jade vine lei i made for her.

Island Family

Amalia and I
Raw Rainbow Cheesecake that I made with Natural coloring.
CRUST:
2 C pecans, almonds or mac nuts: (your choice) unsoaked raw and unroasted
4-8 dates
1/8 tsp salt
1 tbls vanilla
*place all ingredients in a food processor, coconut oil up a cheesecake pan and add ingredients spreading evenly on the bottom and sides of a pan.  A springform pan works best.

FILLING:
3 C soaked cashews: soak for 3-4 hours
1 C bananas
1 to 2 cups lemon juice (depending on how tangy you like it)
1/2 C agave, honey or coconut sugar made into liquid form
2 tbls vanilla
1/8 tsp salt
1C almond milk or of course, breast milk if you have it!
3 tbls lecithin
1C coconut oil
*place all ingredients except lecithin and coconut oil in a blender (vitamix works best). Blend for 3 mins and then add lecithin and coconut oil and blend for another 2 mins.  Pour 1 1/2 cups of filling into a small food processor or you can mix by hand.  Add in your beet juice or raspberries until you obtain the color you desire.  About 1/8  cup.  Mix in food processor.  Add your first layer to the bottom of the crusted  pie pan.  Next, repeat previous step but add in tumeric to create the orangie/yellow color.  Play with the amount.  You just need 1/2 tablespoon or less to get a nice color.  Mix as described above and add to the pie your 2nd layer, spread evenly.  Next, add in the spirulina for the green, macha powder (green tea) or wheat grass juice.  1/2 to 1 tablespoons. Mix as described above and add your third layer.  For the Purple, add in 1/4 cup of blueberries or blackberries to the food processor and mix well.  Add your final layer!
*For swirls, reserve 1/4 cup of original non colored filling, drizzle on top and swirl in with chopsticks!!  Place into freezer for 3 hours or so. Transfer into fridge about an hour before you are going to eat it. You can also use food coloring dividing the original  non colored filling into however many colors/layers you will want!  So fun!

BLESSINGS!

Awww! This is what a 'baby shower' should be. The sharing of mama wisdom and honoring of new motherhood this way is so lacking in our culture. Instead of gifting some baby clothes and guessing how many jelly beans are in a formula bottle (yes, it happened at the shower my extended family gave me) we should be honoring the new mother and truly preparing her for the awesome passage ahead. As always, I offer infinite gratitude for your shining example!

I think I must apply for a green card!
All you show from Kauai is so so beautiful.
As a woman and doula I wish such blessings for every pregnant woman on this planet.
It is so wonderful to see that your little daughter grow in this manner.

Thank you all!! Yes, Its time we share in what is sacred and true. Who likes playing all of those weird baby shower games anyway and where did they come from?! This is the new paradigm and we all all creating it together! Let's continue to celebrate the beauty that is Life.
